Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, on Sunday, inaugurated the Mahabahu Brahmaputra River Heritage Centre at Panbazar in Guwahati, Assam.
The heritage-cum-cultural centre has been set up at the site of the old DC Bungalow in Guwahati.

The new heritage centre in Guwahati is now home to antique articles showcasing Assam’s “rich heritage”.

Naidu also inaugurated the PET-MRI wing at the state cancer institute at the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH).
This new PET-MRI wing at the GMCH, the “first of its kind” in the Northeast, has been built at a cost of Rs 62 crores.
“GoA is implementing Distributed Cancer Care Model in the state in partnership with Tata Trusts for providing timely & effective treatment to cancer patients. It aims to create patient-centric cancer institutions to deliver standardized & affordable cancer care,” said CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.
