The BJP-led government is reportedly working in a war-footing manner to complete the pending projects, some of which were started by the previous Congress government.

It was inaugurated in presence of Mangaldai Lok Sabha MP Dilip Saikia, Mangaldai MLA Gurujyoti Das, deputy commissioner Dilip Kumar Borah and senior officials of the implementing agency Assam Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Board among others.

The project constructed at Gerimari with more than three million litres capacity overhead water reservoir targeting connection for 5,000 households through 38,000 meter long pipelines.

The foundation stone of the project was laid by then PWD & urban development minister Ajanta Neog in February 2012.
