Assam: United People’s Party Liberal releases LS poll manifesto at Kokrajhar

The United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) released its election manifesto at Kokajhar Press Club on Tuesday.

The UPPL promised all-round development and said it would work for peace and tranquillity in the region if the party candidate is voted to Parliament.

Releasing its poll manifesto, UPPL vice president Rwngwra Narzary said peace and security were the main issues in BTAD and the party was committed to solve insurgency by pressing the government for holding peace negotiations with the insurgency groups in the State.

The party stressed on women’s issues in the manifesto and promised seperate reservation in Parliament, Assembly and Council.

The party also promised strong action againt human trafficking and improve the health scenario in the region.

The party also promises to press for creation of Satellite Autonomous Council for Gorkha and Nath Yogi and upgradation of existing Missing, Tiwa, Rabha Council to Sixth scheduled.

The UPPL also promised to provide land deeds according to the Recognization of Forest Rights Act, 2016.

It also said it would press the government for setting up of Central Agriculture University and Physical Education University in area under Kokrajhar Parliamentary constituency.

Confident of winning the election in both Kokrajhar and Mangaldai constituencies Narzary said, “We are clear about our prospects towards solving the political and non-political problems of the state by taking up the issue in the Parliament.”
