Assam: Udalguri youths test negative of coronavirus

Relieving the entire population of Udalguri district of Assam, the two youths, who were isolated at Udalguri Civil Hospital of suspected coronavirus tested negative on Thursday.

Doctors confirmed that they were suffering from influenza.

The patients were Simon Ekka (32) of village Majuli, Udalguri hailing from Kerala and Harenjit Barman (26) of Sapangaon, Udalguri hailing from Bengaluru.

Earlier they were admitted at 200 bedded Udalguri civil hospital on Thursday evening.

The attending doctors collected the samples of their blood and coughs and had sent the same to the GMCH for further investigation and they have been kept in the isolation ward of the hospital.

The hospital sources informed that the two youths who were working at Kerala and Karnataka were brought to the hospital and at the time of their admission, they were suffering from acute fever, headache and cough showing the probable symptoms of the deadly cornavirus.

Meanwhile, the Udalguri district Health department started screeining of all the passengers from dawn to dusk as per the directions of the administration at the Udalguri railway station.

It has also come to notice that several youths who were either studying or working started their homecoming from Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka and Gujarat due to the COVID-19 scare in those states.
