Assam’s Udalguri district continues to remain in the grip of COVID19 pandemic.

COVID19 positive cases continue to rise in Udalguri district.

Udalguri on Friday recorded the district’s second death due to COVID19.

According to reports, one Amrit Deka, a retired teacher of Kalaigaon area of the district, died of COVID19 infection at the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) on Friday.

He was undergoing treatment for kidney related ailments and was also suffering from other diseases, according to sources.

With this, the COVID19 death toll in Udalguri district increased to two.

Meanwhile, according to the health bulletin, there are a total of 33 persons who have been infected by the deadly virus in the district.

However, three persons were discharged from the hospital on Saturday after they tested negative for the virus.

On Saturday, a total of 1,294 COVID19 patients were discharged from various hospitals across Assam after they tested negative for the virus.

With the release of these patients, the total number of discharged patients in Assam increased to 23,055.

Assam currently has a total of 31,086 COVID19 positive cases including 7,951 active cases while 3 cases migrated from the state.

The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of 77 people in Assam.
