The Udalguri district administration has imposed restrictions on travelling to and fro between Udalguri and Kamrup (Metro) districts until further notification.

The order was issued Udalguri DC Prakash Ranjan Gharphaliya.

“In the capacity of chairman of District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), travel restrictions have been imposed under Section 34 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 on the to and fro journey of people from the Kamrup (Metropolitan) district to Udalguri under general circumstances in the interest of maintaining public health,” the order stated.

The DDMA chairman also directed the joint director of health services of Udalguri district to ensure a compulsory 14-day quarantine for any person coming from the Kamrup (Metropolitan) to any part of Udalguri district.
