Assam: Two teenagers missing in Manas River in Bongaigaon

Guwahati: Two teenagers reported went missing in the Manas River passing through Bongaigaon, Assam on Sunday.

As per reports, the incident took place in the Manikpur area.

A total of five teenagers went for a swim in the river near the Bashbari No. 1 area in Manikpur, Bongaigaon.

However, during the swim, they were swept away by the current in the river.

The locals, somehow, managed to rescue three of the boys but two went missing in the river.

Following the incident, the police and SDRF were informed.

The SDRF teams have launched a rescue operation to trace the two missing boys.

The missing boys have been identified as Rakibul Islam and Abdur Rahim.

An investigation has also been initiated to know what exactly happened.
