Guwahati: As the flood situation in Assam seem to worsen, At least two people were injured after being attacked by a tiger in Nagaon on Wednesday.

According to reports, the incident took place at the Jengani area of Juria in Nagaon, Assam.

The injured were identified as Abdul Aziz and Akhtar Ali. Both are residents of the same area.

It has been suspected that with the rising flood water, the tiger had strayed out in search of shelter and food.

The tiger may have come out of the Laokhowa and Burhachapori Wildlife Sanctuary.

Both the injured persons are now under medical observation.

Forest department officials have been deployed in the area to ensure that the tiger does not attack anyone further.
