Troops of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force (BSF) in a joint operation with police have nabbed two drug smugglers along with 3,800 Yaba tablets in Assam’s South Salmara district along Indo-Bangla border.

A BSF official said that acting on tip off, BSF troops of Border Outpost (BOP) Daira of 06 Bn on Saturday conducted a joint operation with Mankachar police in Domartola village under Mankachar police station of the district.

During the operation, two Indian drug smugglers were nabbed along with two packets wrapped with plastic containing 3,800 Nos Yaba tablets.

This consignment was being smuggled from India to Bangladesh, the BSF official said.

The apprehended drug smugglers have been identified as Shah Alom (31) and Yasin Ali (23), both are resident of Darua Kawahagi village under Mankachar police station in South Salmara district.

The apprehended drug smugglers and seized Yaba tablets have been handed over to Mankachar police for further legal action, the BSF official added.
