Manipur Assam: Mid-day meal cook murdered inside school by brother-in-law

Guwahati: Two people were killed in a head-on collision involving a motorbike and a tractor-trailer combination on NH-27 in Barpeta Road, Assam on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Tanu Narzary and Nihar Basumatary, residents of Chirang.

They were reportedly riding a new motorbike that lacked a registration plate.

The accident occurred when the tractor, allegedly bearing registration number AS28C9461 with the trailer registered AS28G5573, was travelling on the wrong side of the road according to local witnesses.

The bikers lost control or were startled by the oncoming vehicles, resulting in a head-on collision.

Local sources informed that the bikers died at the scene before any medical assistance could arrive.

The police are currently investigating the accident to determine the cause and exact sequence of events.
