The mysterious death of Radha Kumari, a student of Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat has sparked a spontaneous outburst of anguish among cross sections of people in the social media.

The campaign ‘Justice for Radha’ tagging Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal, NF Railway, Railway Protection Force (RPF), General Manager of NF Railway, Union Minister of State (Railways) and parliamentarian from Assam, Rajen Gohain  and Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal says, “A young girl boarded a train @Sibsagar and was found dead in Simulguri, a distance of barely 20 mins. Are our railways not safe anymore? Please ensure justice is served at the earliest.”

The twitterati were quick to react.

Another one reads, “Not only girls. We the people of India are no more safe in the streets, in the trains. Since we can’t change the criminal minds, so plz tighten the security. That is only what the govt can do.”
