The legislators of Barak Valley of Assam whose names were dragged into a sex racket scandal got a clean chit on Saturday night.
In an interesting twist to the tale when the two female sex workers and the prime complainants of this case, made a ‘U – turn’ and denied knowing anyone of them of being involved in this sex trade.

After a bout of hysteria that led to sex worker, Rita Sen, one of the prime complainant in this case, fainting outside the PI Court on Saturday evening, of which, Northeast Now has reported of the turn of events, Cachar Police providing the necessary treatment to Rita Sen, recorded the statements of both, Sen and Reshmi Dey late Saturday night.
Speaking to Northeast Now, a short while ago over phone, Superintendent of Police, Cachar, Rakesh Roshan said, “Both these sex workers denied knowing any of the legislators or other high officials doing the rounds, at any point of time, or involved in any sex trade.”

Both Sen and Dey have accepted the fact that the FIR copy was written by someone else as they are not so literate to understand the nitty-gritty of it, he added.
“I have also video recorded their statement as their conversion itself made us believe that they were influenced by ‘someone’ to take all of these names”, said SP Rakesh Roshan.
Meanwhile, the kingpin of the sex racket run by Izafa Begum and her two accomplices, Rupak Roy and Bulti Nath, have been remanded to police custody for three days, while, other two involved in this trade, Jayashree Saha and Aliya, are still absconding.
However, the Superintedent of Police, Roshan exuded confidence that they would be caught soon.
Two legislators of Barak valley, Nizam Uddin Choudhury of Algapur constituency of Hailakandi district and Aminul Haque Laskar of Sonai constituency of Cachar district, have spoken out openly in this regard, since Saturday afternoon.
Both these leaders opined that a bigger conspiracy is going on to tarnish their names, and have demanded a full fledged inquiry into the whole incident that is going on for the past 72 hours, beginning, Thursday afternoon.
