The special train carrying around 261 passengers from Delhi and other places arrived in Assam’s Dibrugarh railway station of Banipur at 7 am on Thursday.
The health officials wearing PPE kits screened the passengers who have arrived in Dibrugarh by the special train.
Dibrugarh district administration has made screening centre at Banipur railway station and screening has been going on at the railway station.
Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Phukan, Digboi MLA Suren Phukan, Tea tribe welfare minister Sanjay Kishan, Dibrugarh deputy commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha was present at the railway station for reviewing the screening process.
Separate counters for individual districts and Arunachal Pradesh were made outside the Banipur railway station.
The teams from the district administration of Tinsukia, Sivasagar, Charaideo, Dhemaji, Lakhimpur as well as Arunachal Pradesh received the respective passengers under their jurisdiction and after the preliminary screening, they were taken away to the quarantine centres at the respective districts.
They will further undergo COVID-19 test there.
