Top CPI (Maoist) leader Tingraj Orang has reportedly surrendered before Assam police.

Oranga, who hails from Samuktola village under Naharkatia police station in upper Assam’s Dibrugarh district, joined the proscribed rebel outfit in 2007.

The Maoist leader, who belongs to the Tea garden community, underwent training in the deep forest of Jharkhand.

In 2011, he was arrested from the Sundergarh district of Orissa and brought to Assam. He was released on bail later.

He went back to jungles after stepped out of the jail and remained elusive since then.
