The Assam government will move the Supreme Court within 15 days to resolve the inter-state boundary dispute with Mizoram, chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
This development comes days after the violent clash at Lailapur in Cachar district along the Assam-Mizoram border on July 26.

“If we are wrong then the Supreme Court will say you are wrong, if we are right, the apex court will say you are right. So why we should fight among ourselves,” Sarma told reporters in Guwahati.
Sarma added that it would take at least 10-15 days for the state to approach the Supreme Court and that there is no urgency.
“Filing a case on land dispute even drafting the petition takes months, our advocates are doing their jobs,” chief minister Sarma added.
