GUWAHATI: Senior Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Sushmita Dev expressed concerns regarding the “state of confusion” within the Congress party, asserting that elections cannot be effectively contested amidst such uncertainty.
Briefing media persons, TMC leader Sushmita Dev remarked, “Congress appears to be in disarray and is being influenced by the BJP.”

She said that TMC chief Mamata Banerjee has “explicitly instructed party members to contest the elections independently”.
“Should we secure 40 MPs in the Lok Sabha, we will align with the INDIA alliance,” the TMC leader said.

Dev emphasized that TMC remains committed to the INDIA alliance, echoing Mamata Banerjee’s assertion that the party will collaborate with the INDIA alliance to form a government.
She highlighted TMC as a viable alternative to challenge the BJP’s dominance in Assam.
Furthermore, Dev criticized Assam Congress president Bhupen Kumar Borah for his “ambiguous stance” on TMC.
She disclosed that AAP leaders will be fielded to contest Lok Sabha seats in Assam this time, reaffirming TMC’s dedication to representing the interests of the people of Assam.
