In a bid to strengthen its fight against COVID-19, the Assam government on Sunday recruited 300 nurses on a regular basis at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
In a tweet, state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “We have recruited 300 nurses on regular basis today in Guwahati Medical college in order to strengthen the nursing workforce in our fight against Covid 19.”

Assam so far has recorded 7,165 positive COVID-19 cases in the state.
Assam currently has 2,338 active cases.
A total of 4,814 COVID19 patients have been discharged from various hospitals across Assam so far.
