In a joint operation, three NSCN-IM cadres were nabbed by police and troopers of the Assam Rifles in Charaideo district of Assam. 

The three NSCN-IM cadres were apprehended from Balijan Tea Estate in Assam’s Charaideo district on Thursday.  

The nabbed militants have been identified as Tinglu Konyak (25), Nokyeng Konyak (25) and Yangnu Konyak (24).  

The trio hail from Lakhun Basti in Mon district of Nagaland.

Three pistols along with live ammunition were recovered from the possession of the rebels. 

The nabbed rebels are suspected to have been involved in inter-state arms smuggling. 

“We have registered a case against them under section 25 (1A) and section 35 of the Arms Act at the Sonari Police Station. We suspect that they were involved in inter-state arms smuggling. Interrogation is underway,” Charaideo SP Sudhakar Singh said.
