Assam: Three nabbed with huge heroin consignment in Golaghat

Guwahati: At least three men were arrested by the police in Golaghat, Assam with a huge consignment of suspected heroin.

The operation was carried out based on inputs with the police about a possible heroin smuggling attempt.

Based on the input, the police launched an operation near the Doigrung area of Golaghat.

During the operation, the police seized 850 grams of suspected heroin from three persons.

The suspected drugs have been estimated to be worth more than Rs 6 crore in the international grey market.

Further, it has been reported that the suspected drugs were meant for circulation in and around the Golaghat district.

The police are investigating the origin of the suspected drugs.
