Guwahati: Three individuals accused of killing migratory birds using poison were arrested in Biswanath, Assam on Wednesday.

The incident occurred at Rangsali Dalani, located near the Borgang forest range bordering Kaziranga National Park.

The forest and police team not only arrested the culprits but also managed to rescue three Ruddy Shelducks from their possession.

The accused reportedly were nabbed based on inputs present with the forest department.

After being nabbed, one of the individuals confessed to poisoning the birds.

All three suspects have been taken into custody and are being interrogated in connection with their act.

Post-mortem examinations confirmed that the deaths of the migratory birds were indeed caused by poisoning.

Unfortunately, the poisoning resulted in the deaths of one Bar-Headed Goose and two Ruddy Shelducks.

A third Ruddy Shelduck succumbed to the poison despite veterinary efforts.

While three birds died, forest officials stated that they succeeded in recovering three more birds alive.

The rescued birds are currently under medical attention, a forest official state.
