Three persons, including a girl, were killed on the spot when their speeding car fell into a roadside ditch in Joyguru area of North Guwahati on early Saturday morning.
Sources informed that a Swift Dezire with registration number AS-01-BN-1574 lost control and fell into the ditch, which led to the death of the three persons.
Eyewitnesses informed that the vehicle was on its way to Guwahati from Baihata Chariali when the accident occurred.
The deceased have been identified as Kahilipara’s Madhusmita Sarma, Nalbari’s Tapan Sarma and Dispur’s Gobinda Baishya, who is also the owner of the fateful car.
North Guwahati police reached the spot immediately and took the bodies into their custody.
Till the filing of this report, the police were looking after the accident and more details are awaited.
