Assam: Supernova lift first Anupam Das All Assam T-20 trophy in Mangaldai

Supernova Club has lifted the first Anupam Das memorial All Assam T-20 cricket trophy defeating Postal Club by 24 runs at Mangaldai of Darrang district in Assam.

In the low scoring final of the tournament at the Mangaldai stadium, electing to bat first after winning the toss, Supernova managed to put 110 runs on the board loosing nine wickets in the stipulated 20 vers.

Kunal Saikia (36) and Bishal Roy (33) were the most successful batsmen for them while Chanakya Sarma (2/10), Bitop Mahanta (2/19) and Sidharth Sarma (2/20) of Postal shared majority wickets of the opposition.

In reply Postal were all out for only 86 runs with seven balls to spare due to the devastating spell of bowling by Sidharth Sankar Baruah (3/10) ably assisted by Kalyan Gogoi (2/15) and Wasim Ahmed (1/19) of Supernova.

Diptesh Saha (27) and Roshan Basfor were the two notable contributors for the Postal.

Sidhartha Sankar Baruah of the champion team was adjudged as the Man of the Match. After the final Santanu Bharali, legal advisor to the Chief Minister and other distinguished guests gave away the awards to the winners.

Brief Score: Supernova 110 for 9 in 20 overs ( Kunal Saikia 36, Bishal Roy 33, Chanakya Sarma 2/10, Bitop Mahanta 2/19 & Sidharth Sarma 2/20)beat Postal Club 86 all out in 18.5 overs ( Diptesh Saha 27, Roshan Basfor 19, Sidhartha Sankar Baruah 3/10, Kalyan Gogoi 2/15 & Wasim Ahmed 1/19).
