Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia was on Sunday sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court.

Chief Justice (acting) Justice N Kotiswar Singh, on behalf of the Governor of Assam, administered the oath of office at a function in the presence of chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal at Raj Bhavan in Guwahati.

Justice Dhulia was the first Chief Standing Counsel of Uttarakhand and was later elevated as a permanent judge of the Uttarakhand High Court.

After the swearing-in ceremony, Justice Dhulia assumed charge of his office and interacted with the Judges and officers of the Registry.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by law and justice minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya, legal advisor to the chief minister Shantanu Bharali, Judges of the Gauhati High Court, state chief secretary Jishnu Barua and other officials of the state government.
