Haflong: Sub-Inspector Nabajit Das, in-charge of the Laisong Police Patrol Post, died on Friday evening after being hit by a car while conducting naka checking in Laisong in Assam’s Dima Hasao district.
According to reports, Das was conducting naka checking with other police personnel when a car bearing registration number AS 02 AJ 4335 allegedly hit him.
He sustained severe injuries and was immediately taken to Haflong Civil Hospital for treatment.
However, doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead.
Nabajit Das was a permanent resident of Udaguri under Udalguri Police Station in Udalguri district.
Colleagues and well-wishers expressed grief over his death. Das died while performing his duty.
