Dhubri: In a raid led by the Special Task Force (STF) of the Assam police in the wee hours of Saturday (May 25), authorities targeted illegal betting activities tied to the Indian Premier League (IPL) in Bilasipara under Dhubri district of Assam, resulting in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of various betting-related electronic devices and materials.

Based on meticulously gathered intelligence and extensive surveillance, the STF launched the operation to dismantle the illegal betting network in the area.

During the raid, suspects Sahidul Islam and Mozidul Islam were apprehended.

The authorities confiscated electronic devices allegedly used for betting, alongside other incriminating items.

Post-arrest, both suspects were taken to the Bilasipara police station, where they face further legal proceedings.

Authorities have confirmed that appropriate legal actions will be pursued against the accused in accordance with the law.

The confiscated items, including mobile phones, banking documents from Sahidul Islam, and additional electronic devices and personal identification from Mozidul Islam, are crucial pieces of evidence for the ongoing investigation.
