Through the new website, any woman in distress will be able to file their complaint online from any place in the state.

“This feature will help reduce the time in delivering justice to the victim woman,” a statement issued by ASCW on Sunday said.

Apart from the ‘Online Complaint Lodging System’, the website will provide information about the organisation and its activities in detail.

Launching the website on Saturday, social welfare department’s principal secretary Sahu said, “Today is a very landmark day for ASCW. The presence in digital media and social media platforms is an encouraging step towards taking ASCW to more number of women. This will also create a challenge for us to constantly upgrade our complaint redressal system.”

Commenting on the development, chairperson Talukdar said, “I am very happy to be a part of the launch of Assam State Commission for Women’s official website with integrated complaint filing system.”

“Hope, this will extend our reach to the remotest location of Assam,” Talukdar added.

At the launch ceremony, member secretary Sharma said, “It gives me immense pleasure to be a part of the developing process of the ASCW’s website and the online complaint lodging system.”

“I believe this portal will support us greatly in our endeavour towards women empowerment,” Sharma said.

During the day, ASCW also registered its presence on social media platforms by rolling out its Facebook and Twitter accounts in order to aware women, and the general public at large, about rights of the females.

The official Facebook page is https://m.facebook.com/Assam-State-Commission-for-Women-100206948654055 and the Twitter handle is https://twitter.com/ASCW_Assam.
