Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday held a telephonic conference with the professors and associate professors of different universities of the state.
In the conference, Sonowal sought their views and opinions regarding the prevailing situation in consideration of COVID-19 pandemic.
“Every crisis brings opportunity with it and we must consider this difficult phase as an opportunity to build a new Assam by identifying our inherent strengths,” he said.
“Teachers are seen as the guides of the society and to break the stagnation brought by COVID-19 and revive the socio-economic condition of the state, the suggestion offered by professors of universities would go a long way in formulating future action plans,” Sonowal added.
Thanking the teachers and students of universities for their cooperation in making both the phases of lockdown successful, Sonowal called for their support in the extended period of lockdown.
He also sought their active participation in making the people aware about the observance of COVID-19 health and hygiene protocols.
