Assam: Son beats parents to death in Kamrup

A couple was allegedly beaten to death by their son at their home in Assam on Sunday.

The incident took place at Bormaroi under Kamalpur police station of Kamrup district. The boy,

The deceased have been identified as father Debaru Kakati (72) and his wife Basanwali Kakati (65).

The accused son has been identified as Dipen Kakati and sources say the incident took place owing to some family dispute.

Police said the accused Dipen has been arrested.

“The duo was beaten to death by a bamboo stick and though the locals tried to save them, they failed,” the police informed.

Police were informed immediately and they arrested the accused.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC.

“Dipen has admitted that he killed his parents following a heated argument,” police informed.
