Anup Chetia, general secretary of the United Liberation Front of Asom-Pro Talks (ULFA) has stated that youth in the state are being attracted to join the ULFA-I (Independent) by being influence through social media and sentiment.
He made the statement after the reports of two Assam Police personnel along with another youth joining the ULFA-I.
He also claimed that the peace talks process of the ULFA and the government has been on halt for the past two years.

“The government should take steps to complete the talks as soon as possible”, Chetia added.
It may be mentioned that on Saturday it was reported that two personnel of the Assam Police joined the banned militant outfit.
The two were identified as Koushik Gohain of Jeraigaon in Dibrugarh district and Numal Phukan of Sapekhati in Charaideo district.

Another person who was reported to join with them was named Pinku Moran of Tinsukia.
As per reports, they have been missing since December 31 and are suspected to join the outfit.
