The Assam Legislative Assembly on Thursday passed the Assam Skill University Bill 2020 for setting up a state-of-the-art skill university at Mangaldoi in Darrang district.
In a tweet, state industry minister Chandra Mohan Patowary said, “Today Assam Legislative Assembly has passed the Assam Skill University Bill 2020. The university will be set up with financial support of about Rs 1000 Cr from the Asian Development Bank. The university will open a new vista of opportunities and change the economic landscape of Assam.”

It may be mentioned here that the Assam government has tied up with Singapore based ITE Education Service for setting up of the university.
Around 100 bigha land (16 hectares) would be allotted for setting the university.
