Seven students of Assam brought glory to the State with their outstanding performance in Wushu at the recently concluded sixth edition of the Students Olympic National Games for the year 2019-20.

Among these seven students, six of them bagged gold medals while one student won a silver medal.

The gold medal winners include Lina Kalita of Chhaygaon College, Franchish Boro of Jawaharlal Nehru College Boko, Rahul  Boro of Jawaharlal Nehru College Boko,Chayanika Mandal of Sankardev Shishu Niketan Bamunigaon, Junmun Boro of Don Bosco School Boko and Jugjyoti Rabha of Jatiya Vidyalaya Bamunigaon.

The student who bagged the silver medal is Diptimoni Boro of Bamunigaon High School.

The wushu team of the State was represented by reputed wushu player Manoj Kumar Das who hails from Bhurkibari area of Chayagaon in Kamrup Rural district.

The sixth Students Olympic National Games 2019-20 was held at Shri Prem Nagar Ashram located at Haridwar city in Uttarkhand.

The national event was held by the Student Olympic Association of India from August 17, 2019 to August 19, 2019.
