Sivasagar district administration organized a mini marathon, ‘Run for Unity’ to mark the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on Wednesday at Sivasagar town in association with the Office of the District Sports Officer.
The ‘Run for Unity’ was formally flagged off by Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha in the morning.
Apart from the Deputy Commissioner Jha, Superintendent of Police, Sivasagar district Subodh Sonowal, District Development Commissioner Nawab Alhaj Ali, officials and employees of various government departments, teachers and students took active part in the ‘Run for Unity’.

The participants also took an oath for unity on the occasion.
Sankalp Divas observed: The Sivasagar district administration on Wednesday also observed National Sankalp Divas in remembrance of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, whose 34th death anniversary falls on this day.
On the occasion of National Sankalp Divas, Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha administered the oath of the day among the officials and employees of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
The solemn programme was held at the Sukaphaa conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
