A primary school teacher in Demow in upper Assam’s Sivasagar district allegedly committed suicide after being unable to utilize a mobile application introduced by the state government for tracking teachers’ attendance in schools.
The teacher identified as Kali Prasad Chetia hanged himself from the ceiling in one of the school’s classrooms.
