Assam: Sarbananda Sonowal is a weak CM, says Tarun Gogoi

Attacking Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, former CM of Assam Tarun Gogoi on Tuesday said, “Sarbananda Sonowal is a weak Chief Minister and is influenced by Himanta Biswa Sarma and Chandra Mohan Patowary. We seek his good health and prosperity”.

Talking about the Citizenship Bill Gogoi said, “We will continue  our protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016. We assure the people of Assam that the bill won’t be implemented at any cost. Let the Meji fire burn all the negativity along with it”.  We promise to oppose the bill until its withdrawn, added Gogoi, reports Pratidin Time.

Attending a Magh Bihu function organized by Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) at Manabendra Sharma complex, Dispur, President of  APCC  Ripun Bora and Gogoi prayed before the “Meji Fire” for peace and Prosperity of Assam, withdrawal of the Citizenship Amendment Bill.

Gogoi also said that Congress would always stand by the 70 indigenous organization and would continue their protest against the bill.

Protests against the bill has been getting fiercer and larger every day after it was passed at the Lok Sabha. The Bill is yet to be passed in the Rajya Sabha.
