All roads led to the Khagen Mahanta Auditorium in Nagaon as thousands of people thronged to show their solidarity to India’s new sprint sensation Hima Das on Tuesday.
A report published in the The Assam Tribune stated that the felicitation function, organised jointly by the Nagaon District Administration and Nagaon Sports Association (NSA), was scheduled to be held at the Nurul Amin Stadium, but due to incessant rain the meeting had to be shifted to the Khagen Mahanta Auditorium. “I am not here to be felicitated, but I am here for seeking your love and blessings,” said Hima while speaking on the occasion. “I will stay for two days at home and after that will leave for my training place. I have to work hard in order to bring more laurels to the country and my beloved Assam. Now I have more responsibility, bless me for my good health and leave it on me for other results,” said Hima.
