Assam: Retired teacher from Nagaon tweets to save him from son

The appeal from an ailing aged man from Assam’s Nagaon to protect him from his cruel younger son, who beats, kicks and slaps on regular basis, finally reached Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the police.

Harendra Nath Gayan, a resident of Trinayan Mansion at PS Road in Nagaon’s Amolapatty, in a tweet tagging VoiceOfAxom on December 30, 2018 stated that his younger son, Rituraj Gayan, who is a computer engineer with MBA degree, is “regularly beating, slapping, kicking” him and continue to demand money.

A retired teacher, Gayan also tweeted that Rituraj also beat his “elder son & his son too”.

Gayan appealed to all to help him and stop his younger son from beating him anymore.

In another tweet, Gayan, while informing that he is a diabetic patient and heart disease patient, stated that his wife is also a diabetic and heart patient patient with senile dementia.

He further stated: “My whole body is paining. Please help make my son not to beat me.”

The appeal has also reached police officer Ponjit Dowarah, who is the ADCP (PCR) of Guwahati.

Dowarah, who had contacted the victim, on his Twitter handle informed that he had contacted Gayan but he was not willing to take police help as of now.

However, ADCP Dowarah said that he has shared his phone number with the victim so that he can contact him whenever he needs any help.
