Four more persons died of COVID-19 in Assam on Sunday, taking the state’s COVID fatality tally to 57.
The four deceased have been identified as Pramod Chandra Sarma (62) of Kamrup Metro), Binapani Das (78) of Kamrup (Metro), SK Wagle (46) of Cachar) and Prasanta Saikia (74) of Tinsukia.

This was informed by state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet.
“In an irreparable loss to four families, I am anguished to share that Sri Pramod Chandra Sarma (62, Kamrup Metro), Smt Binapani Das (78, Kamrup Metro), Sri S K Wagle (46, Cachar) and Sri Prasanta Saikia (74, Tinsukia) succumbed to #COVID19. My heartfelt condolences,” he tweeted.

A total of 15,165 patients have been discharged and there are 7760 active cases in the state.
