Assam has registered 735 new COVID19 positive cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 11,736.
Confirming the news in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday night said out of the total 735 new cases, Guwahati alone has reported 552 cases.

“Alert ~ 735 new #COVID+ cases detected today, out of which 552 from Guwahati City alone,” health minister Sarma said.
As the COVID19 positive are on the rise, the health minister requested the people of the state to remain vigilant and take strict precautions.
“Request people to maintain vigilance & take strict precautions,” added Sarma.

With the new cases, the total active COVID19 cases in Assam now stand at 4,286.
Earlier, a total of 7,433 COVID19 patients have been discharged from various civil, district and model hospitals across Assam after they tested negative for the virus.
On Sunday, a total of 690 patients, who were earlier infected by the virus, were discharged from various hospitals across Assam.
The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 14 persons in Assam so far while 3 cases have migrated from the state.
“Total cases 11736. Recovered 7433. Active cases 4286 Deaths 14,” Sarma said.
The health minister informed that the laboratories in Assam carried out more tests on Sunday taking the total number of COVID19 tests to 459,143.
“I reiterate our request to all to voluntarily give your swabs if you feel you have even the mildest of symptoms for COVID19,” Sarma said in a tweet.
