Assam reports 7 more Covid19 deaths, 549 new cases in 48 hours

Assam reported a total of 7 deaths due to Covid19 infections and 549 new positive cases in the last 48 hours.

While three Covid19 patients died of the infection on Friday, four other patients passed away in the state on Saturday.

Confirming the death of 4 Covid19 patients in the last 24 hours, Assam health minister Keshab Mahanta on Saturday evening on his Twitter handle said the state reported a total of 246 positive cases on Saturday.

The new Covid19 cases on Saturday were detected out of 44,528 tests.

The state’s Overall Positivity Percentage stood at 0.55% on Saturday, health minister Mahanta said.

He said of the new cases, the Kamrup Metro district reported a total of 71 cases.

The state’s recovery rate stood at 98.31% on Saturday.

“Summary of 02/10/2021 – Today’s Total 246; Overall Positivity Percentage (246 cases out of 44,528 test done = 0.55%); Kamrup(M) 71; Death 4; Recovery Rate 98.31%,” health minister Mahanta tweeted.

On Friday, Assam reported 3 deaths and a total of 303 new positive cases.

The state’s Overall Positivity Percentage stood at 0.64% on Friday.

Of the positive cases on Friday, the Kamrup Metro district reported 70 cases.

The state’s recovery rate on Friday was 98.30%.
