Assam’s Covid19 situation remains grim as the state reported 55 more Covid19 deaths and 4,826 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.
The news has been confirmed by Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on the state’s Covid19 status on Wednesday.

The health minister of Assam informed that the new cases were confirmed out of 52,074 tests.
On Wednesday, the state’s positivity rate increased to 9.27%.
Of the new cases, Kamrup Metro district reported 1,383 cases.

Meanwhile, Assam’s recovery rate stood at 87.99%.

Earlier on the day, health minister Sarma visited the railway coaches prepared by the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) to be used as Covid care Centre.
Sarma informed that the Railway has offered 1,500 coaches to be used as Covid Care Centres.
“In a booster dose of sorts,@RailMinIndia has offered us 1500 coaches to be used as part of #CovidCareCentre. These shall be equipped with Oxygen cylinders. Visited Guwahati Railway station to review it. Grateful to PM Sri
@narendramodi and Sri @PiyushGoyal,” Sarma tweeted.

According to the Union health ministry, 3,82,315 new Covid19 cases were registered in India in the last 24 hours.
Ten states including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Haryana, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan have reported 70.91% of the new cases.
The National Mortality Rate currently stands at 1.09%.
In the last 24 hours, India reported 3,780 deaths, the Union health ministry said on Wednesday.
