Assam has registered 327 new COVID19 positive cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 7,492.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status said out of the new cases, 195 cases have been reported from Guwahati.
“Alert ~ 327 new #COVID19+ cases detected in Assam today. Out of these, 195 cases were reported in Guwahati City in last 24 hours,” health minister Sarma tweeted.
With the new cases, the total number of active COVID19 cases in Assam currently stands at 2,390.
Earlier, a total of 5,088 COVID19 patients were discharged from various civil, district and model hospitals across Assam after they tested negative for the virus.
The deadly disease claimed the life of one more person in Assam, taking the death toll to 11.

India reported 18,552 cases of COVID19 in the last 24 hours, with total number infections surpassing the 5 lakh-mark.
The virus has infected so far 5,08,953 people across India including 1,97,387 active cases and 2,95,881 recoveries.
As many as 384 people died of infection on Sunday pushing the total fatalities to 15,685.
The Union Health Ministry on Sunday said around 58.13 per cent of patients have recovered so far.
