With 3054 new COVID-19 cases detected on Thursday, the overall coronavirus tally in Assam rose to 1,18,333.

The new cases were reported among the 48,846 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

Among the news cases, 735 cases were reported from Kamrup (metro), 198 from Dibrugarh, 192 from Cachar and 176 from Hojai.

The positivity rate of  Assam now stands at 6.25 per cent.

So far a total of 88,726 patients have been discharged from various hospitals of Assam and the total number of active cases stands at 29,274.

With seven more deaths on Thursday, the total death reported in Assam has now reached 330.

In a tweet, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “3054 #COVID cases detected today out of 48846 tests done in last 24 hours. Positivity Rate- 6.25%. Kamrup M- 735; Dibrugarh- 198; Cachar- 192; Hojai- 176. Total cases 118333, Recovered 88726, active cases 29274, Deaths 330.”
