With the detection of 258 new COVI-19 cases in the state, the overall tally in Assam rose to 2,03,967, informed state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet.
Among the new cases, 66 were reported from Kamrup Metro, the minister’s tweet further added.
Sarma, in the tweet, further informed that a total of 2948 patients were discharged in the state on Saturday, taking the recovery rate to 89.61 per cent.

Earlier, two persons succumbed to COVID-19, taking the state’s overall death tally to 902.
