Assam reported 24 more Covid-19 deaths and 1,782 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.
Confirming the news, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Friday evening said the new cases were confirmed out of 1,27,490 tests.
The overall Covid-19 positivity percentage of Assam stood at 1.40% on Friday.
Of the new cases, the Kamrup Metro district registered 174 cases.
While 24 more infected people died in the last 24 hours, hundreds of patients, who were earlier infected by Covid19, recovered on Friday.
The state’s recovery rate stood at 95.49% on Friday.
“Summary of 16/7/2021 – Today’s Total 1782; Overall Positivity Percentage (1782 cases out of 1,27,490 test done = 1.40%); Kamrup(M) 174; Death 24; Recovery Rate 95.49%,” chief minister Sarma tweeted.
On Thursday, Assam registered a total of 1,992 positive cases including 263 in Kamrup Metro district.
A total of 27 patients died of Covid19 infection on Thursday.
Assam’s overall positivity percentage was 1.65% on Thursday.
On Thursday, Assam’s new cases were confirmed out of 1,20,908 tests.
India reported 38,949 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.
Currently, India’s active caseload stands at 4,30,422.
The active cases constitute 1.39% of the total Covid19 cases.
The weekly positivity rate remains below 5%, currently at 2.14%.
The daily positivity rate of the country stands at 1.99%, less than 3% for 25 consecutive days, according to data shared by the Union health ministry on Friday evening.
A total of 39.53 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
A total of 3,01,83,876 people have recovered across the country so far and the recovery rate increased to 97.28% on the day.
