Assam has registered 2,073 new COVID19 positive cases on Tuesday, taking the state’s overall tally to 1,61,393.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status on Tuesday said the new cases have been detected out of 29,647 tests.

“Alert ~ 2073 #COVID cases detected today out of 29647 tests,” health minister Sarma tweeted.
The health minister informed that Assam’s positivity rate stands at 6.99%.
Of the new positive cases, Kamrup Metro has reported 344 cases, Dibrugarh 168, Jorhat 166 and Golaghat has reported 125 new cases.

A total of 1,29,130 patients have recovered from the disease so far in Assam, the health minister informed.
Assam currently has 31,674 active COVID19 cases.
On Tuesday, 8 more positive patients succumbed to COVID19 infection in Assam, taking the state’s death toll to 586.
Confirming the news, health minister Sarma in an earlier tweet said: “Very sad and anguished to inform that 08 more COVID positive patients have succumbed to the disease.”
