Confirming the news of the two more Covid19 deaths on Tuesday, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet said: “Sad to share the demise of two #COVID patients today.”
The deceased have been identified as 75-year-old Rudra Khound of Golaghat district and 61-year-old Monomai Terangpi of Karbi Anglong district.
“Deepest condolences to the bereaved families. Om Shanti,” the health minister tweeted.

On Monday, with the detection of 166 new cases, the Covid19 tally in Assam increased to 2,13,925.
Of the new cases, Kamrup Metro reported 35 cases.
Till Monday, Assam’s death toll was 995.
So far, a total of 2,09,342 people have been discharged from the disease in Assam after their recovery.
With the demise of two more patients, Assam currently has 3,583 active Covid19 cases.
