Assam reported 15 more Covid19 deaths and 639 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.
Confirming the news, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Wednesday evening said the new cases were detected out of 83,282 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
Chief minister Sarma said the state’s overall Covid19 positivity percentage was 0.77% on Wednesday.
Of the new cases, the Kamrup Metro district recorded 109.
In the last 24 hours, hundreds of patients, who were earlier infected by Covid19, have recovered from the disease.
The state’s Covid19 recovery rate stood at 97.61%, chief minister Sarma informed.

On Tuesday, Assam reported 11 deaths due to Covid19 infection and a total of 741 positive cases.
The overall positivity percentage was 0.73% on Tuesday.
The Kamrup Metro district on Tuesday reported 153 cases and the state’s recovery rate was 97.54%.
On Wednesday, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in presence of health minister Keshab Mahanta reviewed the Covid19 situation in Golaghat.
The review meeting was also attended by Assam finance minister Ajanta Neog, who represents Golaghat Assembly constituency, agriculture minister Atul Bora, who represents Bokakhat constituency and the local MLAs.
During the meeting, the Assam chief minister directed the officials of the Golaghat district to ramp up the vaccination drive in the district.
