Assam reported 14 more deaths due to Covid19 infection and 886 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.

Sharing the news, Assam health minister Keshab Mahanta in a tweet on Wednesday evening said the new cases were confirmed out of 1,01,668 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

The overall positivity percentage recorded in Assam on Wednesday was 0.87%, Mahanta said.

Of the new cases, the Kamrup Metro district registered 161.

While 14 people lost their lives due to Covid19 on Wednesday, hundreds of other patients, who were earlier infected by the virus, recovered from the deadly disease.

Health minister Mahanata informed that the state’s recovery rate on Wednesday was 97.18%.

“Summary of 11/8/2021 –  Today’s Total 886; Overall Positivity Percentage (886 cases out of 1,01,668 test done = 0.87%); Kamrup(M) 161; Death 14; Recovery Rate 97.18%,” Mahanta tweeted.

On Tuesday, Assam reported 16 Covid19 deaths and 929 positive cases.

The positive cases were confirmed out of 1,14,152 tests.

The overall Covid19 positivity percentage of Assam stood at 0.81% on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, the Kamrup Metro district recorded 155 positive cases.

On Wednesday, 51.90 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far in India under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.

India’s active caseload currently stands at 3,86,351, according to the data shared by the Union health ministry.

The country has recorded a total of 3,12,20,981 recoveries across the country so far.

A total of 40,013 patients have recovered during the last 24 hours.

India reported 38,353 new cases in the last 24 hours.
