Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the infected person came in contact with people who visited Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi.
Minister while tweeting at 11.52 pm on Monday said: “Alert ~ A person from Goalpara, and secondary contact of people associated with #NizamuddinMarkaz, has been confirmed as #COVID19 positive.”
“The total number of #Covid patients in #Assam now stands at 31,” he added.

Earlier, three people from Goalpara district tested positive for COVID19.
Health minister Sarma informed about the 3 positive cases of COVID19 from Goalpara at around 12:15 am on April 2.
