Assam has registered one more COVID19 positive case taking the total to 28 on Tuesday night.
The new case is from Hailakandi district in the Barak Valley.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the new COVID19 case has a travel history to Saudi Arabia.
Sarma claimed this case is also related to the Tablighi Jamaat in Delhi’s Nizamuddin Jamaat.
Informing about the new case, health minister Sarma tweeted at 8:57 pm: “Alert ~ A person from Hailakandi district, with a travel history to Saudi Arabia, has ben (sic) confirmed as #COVID19 positive. The total number of #Covid patients in #Assam now stands at 28.”

With this, Assam has registered two cases on Tuesday within less than 12 hours.
The state registered the 27th COVID19 positive case in the morning on Tuesday.

Informing about the case at 9:28 am on Tuesday, health minister Sarma tweeted: “Alert ~ one more #Covid_19 positive case from Dhubri District has been confirmed, taking the total number in Assam to 27.”
Sarma also claimed the case from Dhubri has links with the religious congregation in Delhi’s Nizamuddin Markaz.
With the case from Hailakandi, Barak Valley has registered three COVID19 positive cases.
Earlier, Karimganj and Cachar districts registered one positive case each.
